Machete-wielding woman attacks man on Brier Creek Parkway

A man says he was attacked by a woman holding a machete in Brier Creek.

The man, who asked not to be identified by WRAL News, said he was at a red light on Brier Creek Parkway when the woman got out of her car next to him, started yelling at him and saying "I need you to fix this problem."

"She said, 'Fix my car. Fix the problem.' I told her I have no idea what that is," the man said.

The man said the woman started banging on the passenger side door to get the man's attention and yelling. The woman then stopped, and the man said he thought his ordeal was over.

"A few moments later, she came back again with a big knife ... I call it a machete because it's actually pretty long," he said.

"When she pulled the knife, I didn't know what to do," the man said. "Do I get out? She banged the first time, the second time and I was like, OK, the window didn't break."

The woman hit on the car's window a few more times, the man said, before the window finally broke.

"So when the window broke, she threw the knife inside the car and started wailing it around," the man said. "In that moment, I just leaned to the passenger door trying to decide if I'm going to exit out the door or not."

The man said his car's window was shattered, and parts of his car were slashed with the knife.

The woman then got back in her car and left before police arrived. The man said he wasn't able to get a good look at the woman or the make and model of the car she was in.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Raleigh Police Department.
