Lumberton man faces jail for 2008 bank robbery

A Lumberton man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to a robbery at the First South Bank.

Sayfried Sinclair, 32, walked up to a teller on Oct. 3, 2008, pointed a semi-automatic handgun and said, "Give me all you have." He got away with $2,093 in cash and bait money.

Lumberton police and the FBI participated in the investigation that identified Sinclair as the robber.

He faces a maximum 25-year prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. As part of his plea deal, Sinclair will also pay restitution to the bank.
