Lonerider Brewing Company's latest beer release is helping to benefit a Wake County nonprofit that provides domestic violence and sexual assault services.

A portion of proceeds from Lonerider's new pastry stout "Not All Heroes Wear Crepes" is being donated to InterAct, which has served the county for more than 40 years.

"(The beer) tastes very much the way that sounds," Lonerider Brewing's Head of Marketing Tom Simon said. "We added some habanero and cocoa nibs to it and its just got a nice kind of smooth finish to it."

Lonerider released "Not All Heroes Wear Crepes" on Feb. 26 and continues to offer it at its three Hideout locations in Raleigh and Wake Forest. It is also available at local bottle shops.

“This brew celebrates the strength and courage we see every day at InterAct," said Allison Strickland, interim co-executive director and chief development officer. “We are grateful and proud to partner with Lonerider Brewing to celebrate our heroes - survivors of abuse.”

"Not All Heroes Wear Crepes" is the first in Lonerider's "Brew It Forward" series, which will feature three more specialty beers with nonprofit partners this year. Simon said the next collaboration in the series will be a rosé beer called "Petal to the Metal" this summer with a portion of proceeds going to District C, a Raleigh startup which offers training to high school students in solving “real-life” problems.

Lonerider has raised more than $750,000 to help Triangle area nonprofits over the past 12 years.
