Sky 5 gets an aerial view of the WRAL tower lit for the holidays.

The annual lightings of two big towers in the Triangle are set for this week.

WRAL will light the 300-foot transmission tower outside the WRAL-TV Studios, at 2619 Western Blvd. in Raleigh, on Dec. 1 in an annual holiday tradition that dates back more than half a century. The NC Master Chorale will offer holiday musical entertainment throughout the course of the WRAL Evening News, and a very special guest will join Debra Morgan and David Crabtree to light the tower.

And in Durham, the American Tobacco Historic District will ring in the holiday season with the 11th annual lighting of the Lucky Strike Tower on Dec. 4.

More information about these and other light displays are on WRAL's holiday page.
