The Carolina Conversations odyssey across the Tar Heel landscape is almost half complete. We have nearly reached the midway point in our fascinating journey. Thank you for making the trip with us.

Here are the 46 counties we have visited so far in our Tar Heel Trivia blitz: Alamance, Ashe, Avery, Beaufort, Bladen, Burke, Carteret, Chatham, Chowan, Cumberland, Dare, Davidson, Duplin, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Greene, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Hyde, Johnston, Lee, Lincoln, Martin, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Nash, New Hanover, Onslow, Orange, Pamlico, Perquimans, Pitt, Randolph, Robeson, Sampson, Surry, Transylvania, Tyrrell, Wake, Watauga, Wilson, Wilkes, and Yancey.

We still have more than 50 counties to go. I will get us started with a new question. After it is answered correctly some other blogger should post another question that will steer us into the county jurisdictions we have yet to explore.

Where was the first documented discovery of gold made in America?
