Winners, Web Sites and Welcome Back!
Did my headline lure you into the lair? I hope this doesn't disappoint, but I have a few odds and ends I need to discuss.
First, time to strike the Tar Heel timpani! The winning entry in the anti litter slogan contest is:
"Nothin' could be finer than a clean Carolina!" Thanks for your votes. If the author of the slogan will contact me with name and address, I will send them a package of music featuring my five CDs and DVD, including "I Am a River."
Next week I will begin a series on cool Web sites. Feel free to e-mail me at bleslie@wral.com with your suggestions.
Also, could any of you recommend some nice bed & breakfasts on the Outer Banks? I recently get questions about great places to stay.
And finally, be sure to tune in Monday morning on WRAL News for a special welcome-back Lynda Loveland program. I'll have a special song around 5:30 a.m., and Mark Roberts is crafting something interesting as well.
By the way, thanks for all of the great quotes. Feel free to add to the list of literary gems.
