NC mom, former pro-wrestler goes viral on TikTok

Rebecca Hardy is not your typical North Carolina mom. A former wrestler and Playboy model, the working mother of four has 40 million TikTok views, where her youngest child, Eevee, has gone viral.

Rebecca, known professionally as Reby Sky, is married to pro wrestler Matt Hardy. They live in a wooded estate in Matt's hometown of Cameron, N.C., with their four children -- 1-year-old Ever Moore (Eevee), and older brothers Bartholomew, Wolfgang and Maxel.

Reby does it all -- she homeschools her children and works from home as a graphic designer. After the birth of her first son, she stopped her successful modeling and wrestling career to focus on her family and design career while Matt trains and wrestles with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in Raleigh and across the country.

"My husband's on the road more often than he's not," Reby said. "So it's kind of just me here in the middle of nowhere. There's a lot of planning meal-wise, you can't just run outside to the store whenever you need something."

Like her older brothers, Eevee was born at home. Reby said she delivered her only daughter outdoors during a rainstorm with her friend as a midwife. Matt and their three sons were all there to witness it.

"It's a crazy story because it started storming right as I got into active labor," Reby said. "I swear every time I had a contraction, we would hear thunder. It was the craziest experience. And then when she was born, the skies opened up and it was sunny. I couldn't have planned it any better. It was amazing. A really beautiful experience."

Reby's most popular TikTok videos are those featuring Eevee in her "gothic baby series," which she never planned on.

It all started when she painted Eevee's nursery a charcoal gray and purchased a vintage crib from the 1800s with a large wooden frame. Reby has always loved antiques, which she purchases off Facebook Marketplace or at the antique district in downtown Cameron.

"We had a carpenter come and refit the crib and slats to modern standards and safety," Reby said.

Reby began sharing videos and photos of her home and the gothic nursery. She got a lot of excitement, while others were alarmed.

"Whenever people would see the nursery, there's always that comment -- babies need color, or she's scared," Reby said. "The first episode of the [gothic baby] series, which I never even intended to be a series, it was kind of just a response to people always saying that."

Reby creates elaborate scenes -- gothic picnics and seances -- for her videos. It's all for fun, but she said making time to set up the scenes and film her toddler is a challenge.

"You've got to work fast, and I owe a lot to baby wearing," Reby said. "There's a lot of just strapping her on with a piece of fabric and [setting up] as fast as I can. Whenever she's in a good mood, that's when we have to do it. It's very spontaneous."

Eevee's moody nursery is just one of her many playspaces, and she hardly ever sleeps there, Reby laughed. The toddler even has a rainbow playroom off the nursery accessed by a hidden doorway in a bookcase.

Reby said she filming a baby isn't always what it seems -- she works around her daughter's schedule, not the other way around.

"People say like, 'Oh my God, you're working the baby,'" Reby said. "But it's really just me following her around in the course of a week and putting those scenes together to make a story."

Matt, along with his brother Jeff, are still professional wrestlers for AEW and are on the road several days a week.

"I'm super impressed with the way she follows Ever around and then she creates these stories with the gothic baby. It's so cute," Matt said. "She does a great job crafting these stories in her mind. It's really interesting, especially when you have an infant like Ever. She does an amazing job putting that story together. It's super impressive."

It was a fan who suggested pro-wrestlers Matt and Reby get married.

"It was on Twitter," Reby said. "I just gone through a breakup and I was being very dramatic and some random person tweeted me, 'You know, I think you and Matt Hardy would be a really great match. You've both been heartbroken and you both seem really sweet.' And I just wrote back this like sarcastic answer, like, 'Yeah, okay, I'll let you know when the wedding is.'"

But Matt replied to the tweet, and the two got together when they met at an independent wrestling show in New York.

"From that day forward, we have been inseparable, and we're going on 10 years married next year," Reby said.

While Matt has always lived in Moore County, it's a far cry from Reby's hometown in New York, but she loves what she calls their home "in the forest," where she has decorated every room with a different theme -- perfect for her social media channels.

"It's been a journey, but I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else," Reby said. "This is just all [Matt] has known -- he has had the chance to move anywhere else in the world and he'll always choose this."

Since their home is on 100 acres, Reby said there is plenty of space for her kids to spread out. When asked about juggling family, work, stardom and her huge social media following, Reby praised supermoms out there.

"Moms are way more capable than they probably give themselves credit for," she said. "You are way stronger than you think."
