Lejeune sailor killed in Afghanistan

A North Carolina-based sailor was killed Saturday in Afghanistan, the Defense Department said Sunday.

Hospitalman Eric D. Warren, of Shawnee, Okla., was fatally wounded by an improvised explosive device in Helmand province.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.
