Fayetteville fire crews are working to fix a gas leak Tuesday afternoon on Great Oaks Drive.

The Fayetteville Fire Department (FFD) was dispatched to a report of a gas leak. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a gas line had been damaged by a landscape contractor.

The FFD Hazmat team is currently working to mitigate the leak. Great Oaks Drive is closed to traffic at this time.

Piedmont Gas Company will be notified to make repairs as needed.
