Knightdale restaurants raise money to solve slaying

Knightdale restaurants will donate part of their proceeds from Thursday night to a reward for information to solve the January murder of a Domino's Pizza store manager.

Kenneth "Kenny" Ring, 24, died Jan. 11, 2010, two days after he was found lying on the floor of a Knightdale Domino's Pizza store that he managed.

Knightdale restaurants will donate part of their proceeds from Thursday night to a reward offered for information to solve the January slaying of a Domino's Pizza store manager.

Kenneth "Kenny" Ring, 24, died Jan. 11, two days after a delivery driver found him on the floor of the Donimo's store at 2001 Widewaters Parkway. Investigators said Ring was injured in an apparent robbery. No suspects have been named.

Eight restaurants will donate 10 percent of proceeds gained between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday to a reward fund. Eastern Wake County Crime Stoppers is offering a $17,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction.

Participating restaurants in Knightdale include:

  • El Senor Mexican
  • Lone Star Steakhouse
  • Quizno’s Subs & Salads
  • Rudino’s Pizza and Grinders
  • Zaxby’s

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Widewaters Commons Shopping Center from midnight to 12:39 a.m. on Jan. 9. They urge anyone with information, regardless of how insignificant it might seem, to call them at 919-217-2261.
