A Raleigh police officer was involved in a head-on crash on Poole Road at the intersection of Donald Ross Drive on Wednesday night.

Three cars were involved in the accident, according to officials. Among them was an officer in his cruiser.

The police officer was evaluated on the scene and was reportedly conscious and alert.

The officer was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. A male juvenile was taken to the hospital, also, with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The juvenile was charged, according to officials, with: DWI, Felony Serious Injury by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, No Operator’s License, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Expired Registration.

Poole Road reopened Thursday morning after a police investigation.
