Another hot, sticky afternoon could bring storms

A rainy disturbance was dissipating Wednesday morning as it moved into North Carolina from the south, and most areas of the state should be clear for most of the day.

The Triangle has the potential for isolated thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening as another system moves in from the northwest.

There’s a 10 percent chance for rain at 4 p.m. and 20 percent chance at 5 p.m., meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

Lunchtime temperatures will feel like the upper 80s because of high humidity, and later in the afternoon could feel like the upper 90s or even 100 degrees.

There’s a better chance for thunderstorms Thursday, and stronger storms are expected Friday.

High temperatures will drop to the low 80s by Saturday and stick around through early next week.
