Isaiah Evans, Zamareya Jones named players of the year as NCBCA releases all-state teams

North Mecklenburg's Isaiah Evans and North Pitt's Zamareya Jones, two McDonald's All-Americas and state champions, were named the players of the year by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association.

Two McDonald's All-Americans were named the players of the year for the 2023-2024 high school basketball season by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association.

North Mecklenburg senior Isaiah Evans was named the boys player of the year while North Pitt senior Zamareya Jones was named the girls player of the Year.

Evans led North Mecklenburg to the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state championship this past season. He stands at 6-foot-7 and will be playing college basketball at Duke.

Jones also led her team to a state title. North Pitt won the 2A state championship this season. At 5-foot-7, Jones will play college basketball at NC State next season.

NCBCA players of the year, coaches of the year, and all-state teams are selected by coaches from across the state.
