Internet services restored at 30 NCDMV driver license and plate offices

An internet outage on Tuesday was impacting 30 driver license offices in portions of the Triangle, Fayetteville, the Sandhills and beyond, according to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.

An internet outage Tuesday that impacted 30 driver license offices in portions of the Triangle, Fayetteville, the Sandhills and beyond, has been resolved, according to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.

A spokesperson with the NCDMV said affected offices will repoen Wednesday as scheduled.

According to the NCDMV, Lumen Technologies reported the outage Tuesday around 9:15 a.m. after a fiber cut between Raleigh and Benson.

Staff from the NCDMV will attempt to contact people with scheduled appointments.

Crews on Tuesday afternoon were working to repair the outage, but no timeline was reported.

DMV offices in Fuquay-Varina, Fayetteville, Raeford, Smithfield, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Erwin, Dunn, Lillington, Jacksonville, Siler City, Wallace, Clinton and Jacksonville were all impacted.

No Raleigh locations were affected.
