Interactive storytimes, special screenings of 'The Gruffalo' planned during Marbles' Read Across America events

Marbles Kids Museum will offer up hands-on activities, interactive storytimes and special IMAX showings of "The Gruffalo" through the weekend to mark Read Across America, a national celebration of reading and literacy that takes place on Dr. Seuss's birthday.

The story-filled lineup begins Thursday, Feb. 28, and lasts until Sunday, March 3. The schedule includes storytimes with the Carolina Hurricanes' Stormy and the Storm Squad, North Carolina FC players and WRAL-TV's Renee Chou.

Screenings of "The Gruffalo," the Academy Award nominated 30-minute short based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson, will be on the big screen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

All events take place at Marbles in downtown Raleigh and are included in the $7 museum admission. Movie tickets are $5 per person.
