Inmate captured 5 hours after escape from Robeson CRV Center

An inmate who escaped the Robeson Confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) Center in Lumberton on Friday was captured five hours later.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety said correctional staff and law enforcement officers were looking for 37-year-old Wayne Zachary Holshouser, who was discovered missing just after 5:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Officials said Holshouser was serving a period of confinement in response to a violation of his post-release supervision on a 2018 conviction of receiving a stolen vehicle.

Holshouser was captured without incident on foot ans transported to a close custody facility, DPS said.

He was admitted on Aug. 15, 2018 and was scheduled to be released on Nov. 11, 2022.
