Injured pelican rescued at Sunset Beach
A shelter said the pelican was provided medication and food and is recovering.
Police officers on Tuesday rescued an injured pelican at Sunset Beach.
According to the Sunset Beach Police Department, an officer was alerted to an injured pelican on 11th Street.
The officer located the injured pelican and secured it with a net. The officer delivered the pelican to the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter in Oak Island.
The shelter said the pelican was provided medication and is recovering.
