Indoor trick-or-treat events in the Triangle for a rainy Halloween
It looks like it will definitely be raining during trick-or-treat Halloween night. For families in the Triangle, there are some indoor options on Tuesday.
Raleigh
Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh has an indoor trick-or-treat event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Goodies and treats will be available throughout the mall for kids 10 and under while supplies last. There will even be photo ops with a princess and superhero provided by Big Air Raleigh.
Garner
In Garner, Trick or Treat the Trail, which is normally held at White Deer Park, has been moved to the Garner Recreation Center (215 W. Main St.) due to the threat of rain. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Cary
Over The Moon Play Space in Cary is open Tuesday night for indoor Halloween fun between 3 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Over the Moon will dim the lights, play music and have goodie bags for children to take home. Reservations are required for 90-minute time slots. Cost is $14 for the first child, $12 for additional. Bring socks or purchase them on site for $2 a pair.
Durham
Angel Island Fun Park, an indoor playground, will give away candy and surprises at its Durham location, 3330 Westgate Drive. According to the website, kids can play until 7 p.m.
PickleBack 2 at 711 Rigsbee Ave. in Durham is hosting a Halloween party for kids from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a music, candy and a costume contest.
Halloween forecast
If you prefer a classic trick-or-treat experience, don't let the rainy forecast scare you.
Although it will almost certainly be raining during trick-or-treat time, the rain should be light. Parents should make sure to bundle kids up, though -- temperatures will be in the 40s as kids go door to door, and lows will fall into the low 30s.
