People will have the option to cook alongside Il Palio executive chef Adam Rose from the comfort of their kitchen.

Il Palio is planning to offer meal kits and access to a live online class with Rose. In addition, the Italian restaurant located inside The Siena Hotel is also offering curbside pickup from a special dinner takeout menu - a new option while its dining room is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"A little Italy-style menu of those comfort foods that everybody knows and loves," Rose said.

The Siena Hotel has also faced its set of challenges.

"It was one of the most difficult plans that we had to put together in my 30 year career because we had no reference guide to go off of," general manager Anthony Carey said.

Carey said the biggest challenge was taking care of its staff.

"We immediately put the plan together with them in mind first. And then once we realized, yes, we should stay open for them...come up with some creative ways to keep the ship afloat," Carey said.

Carey said the team is using the Beekeeper app to keep the staff in touch with each other. The entire hotel team has also started cleaning all surfaces four times a shift.

"We're marketing ourselves to the medical community," Carey said. "And for those that have family members that work in the hospital. If they get into a quarantine situation, it may not be best for them to go home and may be best to go to a hotel for 14 days."
