People across NC show support for farmer injured in bull attack

Members of the community came together over the weekend to show their support for a well-known dairy farmer who was injured in a bull attack earlier this year.

Friends, loved ones and colleagues hosted a fundraiser Sunday for Randy Lewis at Craften Food in Knightdale.

Many of his colleagues in the agricultural industry from across the state wanted to step up to show their support and help any way they could. Chefs prepared dishes using milk from Lewis' farm.

Lewis said his recovery is going well and he is grateful for the support.

"I just wanna make sure people understand how much I appreciate their kindness, and people that gave whatever they had to give," Lewis said. "And I just appreciate them coming to my rescue, cause I sure needed the help."

In addition to the food, there were at least 20 vendors at Sunday's fundraiser who donated their proceeds to Lewis' recovery.
