I-87 bridge reopens after crews searched area where vehicle fell down embankment

I-87 bridge reopens after emergency crews responded near Wendell Falls Parkway overnight, where a car appeared to have fallen off a bridge and down a steep embankment.

Crews responded around 1 a.m. At the time, two of the four lanes were closed just after Exit 13.

WRAL's Breaking News Tracker arrived on the scene, where police were searching the area on Saturday morning.

Troopers told WRAL News the driver had gotten away from the scene.

It's unclear what led up to the crash.
