Hundreds lose power around Knightdale

Progress Energy crews were working to restore power to hundreds of customers in the Knightdale area Saturday morning.

The company's website showed that the outage began around 3 a.m. and affected about 872 households and businesses. Service was restored to most customers by 9 a.m.

Progress Energy spokesperson said that equipment failure caused the outage.
