House fire displaces one person in Winston-Salem

A Winston-Salem resident lost their home to a heating issue that sparked a fire Saturday.

Firefighters put out the house fire on East 22nd Street. They reported that it was caused by a space heater. The department told WXII that the homeowner is displaced for now. They were not injured, though.

Firefighters remind everyone to check their heaters and chimneys before the first use of the season.
