A Holly Springs town council member is accused of crashing his car in the woods, according to court documents

Clarence Deshazor, 50, is charged with driving while impaired.

The court documents said Deshazor was driving around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday on North Main Street. The documents state Deshazor wrecked the car he was driving in the woods, had slurred speech and red glassy eyes.

Deshazor told a law enforcement officer he had three drinks and very little food, the document stated.

WRAL News has reached out to Deshazor with a request for comment. He is due in court on Jan. 5, 2024, court documents show.

Deshazor is a newly elected town council member. He was sworn in on Dec. 5, according to the town's website.
