Hillsborough mother announces candidacy for town commissioner

Victoria Masika announced Friday her intent to run for Hillsborough town commissioner.

A Hillsborough resident for more than 10 years, Masika said she supports racial equity, affordable housing, secure neighborhoods and public safety, neighborhood improvements, effective and efficient transit and community involvement.

"I am running for election to the Town Commissioners to continue the transformative work underway in our town of Hillsborough and to lead new efforts," Masika said in a statement.

She said she's committed to raising awareness of both racial and economic inequities.

Masika will file her notice of candidacy Friday afternoon to make her bid for Hillsborough town commissioner.
