Hickory Ridge WR Jalen Harris commits to Coastal Carolina

Hickory Ridge rising senior wide receiver Jalen Harris announced his commitment to Coastal Carolina University in a ceremony held at the school on Thursday.

Harris’ big junior campaign featured 45 catches for 1,103 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Ragin’ Bull picked Coastal over offers from the University of Connecticut, Georgia State University, East Carolina University, James Madison University, the University of Maryland, Liberty University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Harris cited his relationship with coach Perry Parks as one of the main factors that led him to Coastal. Parks was the first coach to offer him when Parks was at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Hickory Ridge finished the 2022 season with a 6-5 overall record. The Bulls fell to Butler in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4A state playoffs.
