Henderson man charged in fatal hit-and-run

Authorities have charged a Henderson man in a weekend hit-and-run on U.S. Highway 1 that killed a pedestrian.

James Clayton Weaver, 43, of 922 N. Chestnut St., was charged Monday with felony hit-and-run and failure to render aid to an injured party in an accident.

Robert Fletcher Grissom, 54, was hit and killed early Sunday as he walked along U.S. 1 with another man about a half-mile outside Henderson, authorities said. The second man was uninjured in the incident.
