Two Henderson men suspected of larceny were held at gunpoint Wednesday by a person at the scene until police could arrive, authorities said.

Officers arrived at 500 Alexander Ave. and found Sherman West, 30, of 490 Faucet Lane, and Carroll Davis, 22, of 35 Dee Ave., being detained at gunpoint by a person whose name was not released.

West and Davis are accused of damaging metal straps holding a load of shingles in an attempt to steal them, police said. The shingles were on a trailer belonging to Mason Dixon Trucking Company.

Both men were charged with second-degree trespassing and injury to personal property. Davis, who was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, was being held on a $2,000 secured bond. West was being held on a $1,500 bond.
