Help out a reader: easy slow cooker recipes

One of our readers, Jaymi, has just moved into a "fixer-upper" and she doesn't have a full kitchen right now. She is looking for slow cooker recipes that don't require a bunch of preparation. Can you help her out?

Beef stew in the slow cooker

One of our readers, Jaymi, has just moved into a "fixer-upper" and she doesn't have a full kitchen right now. She is looking for slow cooker recipes that don't require a bunch of preparation. Can you help her out?

Here is her request:

"We just moved into a major "fixer-upper" and currently don't have a kitchen. It will still be awhile until we do, so I'm looking for crock pot recipes that don't require a lot of prep (i.e. no cooking noodles or browing beef, etc. as I don't have the means to do so). I have a hungry husband who is working on the house all day and a toddler who eats more than me, so I have some serious mouths to feed. Thank you!"

Thanks for any ideas you can offer. Congratulations on your new home, Jaymi! I hope it becomes your dream home!

Here's my favorite easy slow cooker recipe for BBQ Chicken:

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts cooked in the slow cooker with 1/2 bottle of honey bbq sauce, garlic powder, pepper, 1/2 chopped onion for about 5 hours on low until cooked completely. Pull it apart, put it on buns and there you go - BBQ sandwiches!
