Two local moms are organizing a fundraiser for Haiti that pretty much all kids can get behind. It's at Monkey Joe's.

The raffle and fundraiser is from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 at Monkey Joe's on Glenwood Avenue.

Monkey Joe's, the popular spot with lots of inflatables, will donate 15 percent of all sales to Haiti during the event. And there will be some fun raffle prizes too, including a $150 gift card to the trendy Moxie Kids at Cameron Village, a one-year membership to Marbles Kids Museum (which you can use it to extend your current membership if you have one) and a ten visit frequent user card to Monkey Joe's.

Moms Alison Gugenheim and Elizabeth Jordan are behind the event. The two attend St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Raleigh where members recently got an envelope with different amounts of money to be used to help the victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti earlier this year.

Gugenheim and Jordan got $20. Since Jordan is due with her third child in the next few weeks, the women looked for something they could get together quickly. They've been able to organize it all in the last three weeks or so. (On a side note, you might know Jordan if you're involved in Kids Connect, which offers opportunities for kids to volunteer. This event is separate from that).

Money raised will be split among two groups: · The Haiti Fund and The Episcopal Relief & Development’s Haiti Earthquake Response Fund.

Tickets are $5. Go to helpforhaiti.info for details on how to purchase tickets and get involved.
