November 23, 2013. Raleigh, NC. The annual christmas tree lighting celebration takes place at North Hills in Raleigh, NC.

A Go Ask Mom reader posted this question on another holiday post last week. Here's what she asked:

Can anyone suggest a good outdoor place to take family Christmas card pictures?

Last year, a photo I snapped of my girls at JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh was on my family's Christmas card. I'd recommend other places with big outdoor spaces, including Duke Gardens in Durham, the N.C. Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill, the museum park at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh, Joyner Park in Wake Forest, Historic Oak View County Park in Wake County, and Annie Louise Wilkerson MD Nature Preserve in Raleigh.

But we are lucky to have so many other choices here in the Triangle as well.
