Harnett deputies search for information on shooting

The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the early Friday morning shooting of a 30-year-old man.

Deputies said they responded to a call at 4 a.m. Friday from Central Carolina Hospital about a patient with a gunshot wound who arrived by private vehicle. An investigation revealed the man, identified as James Lee Jones, had been shot about during an assault about 2:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Jesse Road in Broadway.

Deputies are searching for a heavy-set man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, who goes by the nickname BR. Anyone with information is asked to call 910-893-9111.
