Harnett authorities investigate shooting death

Harnett County authorities said they were investigating the Thursday morning shooting death of a Cameron man.

Deputies responded to 448 Mayer Road at about 9:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a man down. They found John Scott Schaffer, 50, dead inside the home, authorities said.

Authorities said they had no suspects in the shooting.
