Goldsboro shooting death under investigation

A Goldsboro man died early Monday from wounds he suffered in a weekend shooting, authorities said.

Wayne County deputies responding to a reported shooting at 9:50 p.m. Saturday found Edward Lee Brewington on the floor of his home, at 134 Mill Dam Lane. Brewington, 48, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, where he died.

Investigators haven't released other details about the case, such as a possible motive or a description of a suspect.
