Goldsboro man charged with kidnapping, rape after hotel assault

Goldsboro police on Tuesday charged a 23-year-old man in connection with a sexual assault that happened Saturday morning at the Best Value Inn. 

Sean Edward Best, of 557 Dollard Town Road, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, first-degree forcible rape and first-degree forcible sex offense. 

According to investigators, Best forced a woman into a room at the hotel early Saturday morning and assaulted her. Police said Best and the woman knew each other prior to the incident, but didn't release the nature of the relationship. 

Best was arrested Tuesday and placed in the Wayne County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
