Generac sued over issue that led to Pink Energy closure

Generac is being sued over problems with solar panel systems that 5 On Your Side has been investigating for months.

Pink Energy, previously known as PowerHome Solar, closed in September after thousands of complaints about home solar systems that weren’t working.

Pink blamed the problems on a part made by Generac called the Snap RS.

Now, a class action lawsuit has been filed against Generac. It accuses Generac of knowing the Snap RS was defective and continuing to make and distribute it anyway.

Many of the claims in the lawsuit mirror bullet points released by Pink Energy in a media packet shortly before their closure.

The suit demands compensation for anyone in the country who had this faulty Generac part in their solar panel system.
