Gas line ruptures in Knightdale, crews on site

Crews in Knightdale on Wednesday morning were working to fix a gas line break.

Before 1:30 a.m., crews were working in the area of North Smithfield Road and Forestville Road, just north of the town hall.

The leak does not appear to be a threat to neighbors or businesses in the area, according to workers at the scene.

Traffic was not impacted.

An estimated time for repairs was not provided.
