A 17-year-old in Fuquay-Varina faces a criminal charge in connection with an allegation that he slapped his 4-month-old son in the face.
Jonathan Emmanuel Austin, of 403 Cherry St., was arrested Monday on a felony charge of intentional child abuse.
The alleged offense happened Jan. 21, according to an arrest warrant, which was issued Jan. 31. No other details were provided.
An arrest report indicates Austin is a student at Fuquay-Varina High School.
He was out of jail Tuesday on a $50,000 secured bond.
