Lenoir County deputies responded to an 18-wheeler stuck on a guardrail along Highway 70 on Wednesday morning.

Just before 8:30, Lenoir County 911 received a call about a crash involving an 18-wheeler on a bridge that crosses over the Neuse River.

Fire department personnel arrived on scene to find an 18-wheel fuel tanker resting on the railing of the bridge. The tanker was not carrying fuel at the time. No fluids got out of the truck’s fuel tanks.

The truck driver was not injured. The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office did not disclose what led to the crash.

NC DOT bridge inspectors were at the site of the crash to check for structural damage.

One westbound lane of Highway 70 was closed.

North Lenoir Fire & Rescue, Lenoir County Emergency Management, Lenoir County Sheriff’s office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol all responded.
