Friends searching for bouncer who disappeared last week

It’s been four days since a Raleigh bouncer has been seen or heard from.

41-year-old Robert Richardson’s friends wasted little time getting the word out about his disappearance. They posted up missing person flyers and are also spreading the word online.

It started off as a fender bender on Wade and Glenwood Wednesday. Richardson and the other driver exchanged information and the two went their separate ways.

But Richardson left behind his two cellphones, his laptop, and he didn’t show up to work the next day.

“He is not the type that goes rogue," said a friend Kensley Perry. "He is not the type of guy that will just disappear.”

But it appears he did disappear.

Hours after the accident, a friend said she spotted someone who looked like Richardson walking down the street. She never made contact and his friends and family have been looking for him since.

“When he didn’t show up to work Thursday night he was supposed to be there at 8. I didn’t hear anything immediately that is a problem," said Perry. "He is an opener, setting stuff up. He will be there 30 mins before a shift starts.”

Perry works with Richardson as a bouncer at Village Bar on Glenwood.

Perry is leading a campaign to find his friend.

He’s posted flyers and made several posts on social media that are being shared online.

He’s hoping someone can come forward with information on where Richardson may be.

“Someone somewhere has seen something, they know something," said Perry. "They just don’t know they’ve seen something.”

WRAL News reached out to The Raleigh Police Department on Richardson’s disappearance. As of this Monday night, police did not have much to add beyond sending us the police report.

Richardson’s friends are currently working on another plan to get the word out about his disappearance.
