Troops return home from deployment at Fort Bragg

Military families enjoyed a scene that never gets old at Fort Bragg on Wednesday.

About 230 members of the 82nd Airborne Division are back home at Fort Bragg after a short deployment to Poland.

For the soldiers who marched into Green Ramp, they're members of the 3rd brigade combat team, part of the 82nd Airborne Division. They deployed to Poland in February to show support for our NATO allies during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Col. Ricky Taylor is the Brigade Commander. He says even though his soldiers didn't enter the combat zone in Ukraine, the training they received with the Polish Army was exceptional.

"In this world, every fight we go in is going to be with our partners and allies," Col. Taylor said. "To be able to do that, to be able to train with our partners and allies and to further deter any enemies, its been great."

But the soldiers are on a different mission right now. It's time to go on leave and catch up with family and friends before training for the next deployment.

After the long flight from Poland and a couple of hours clearing customs at Pope Army Airfield, this is what they've been waiting for.

Pictures and video tell the story. Signs of welcoming, hugs, kisses and carrying on.
