A U.S. Army solider assigned to Fort Bragg was arrested on Saturday and accused of soliciting a special needs child for sexual acts, according to the Liberty Police Department.

Schuyler Naves is charged with soliciting for prostitution of a minor, soliciting a minor for sex by computer, soliciting a minor for sex by computer and appearing to meet, attempted statutory rape of a minor, attempted statutory sex offense of a minor and attempted first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

A Randolph County magistrate found probable cause on the charges and gave Naves a $1 million secured bond. Authorities took Naves to the Randolph County Jail to await his first court appearance.

Liberty police said Naves agreed to pay a family member for sexual activity with the minor, and then traveled to Liberty on Saturday to engage in the illicit activity.

In late April, Liberty police detectives began an online investigation on the exploitation of a minor child.

Liberty police urged parents to monitor their kids’ social media pages and mobile app usage.
