Former NCSU employee arrested on child-sex charges

A former North Carolina State University employee was arrested Friday on child-sex charges, according to police.

Marvin Christopher Jones, 44, of 714 East Street in Raleigh, is charged with first-degree sex offense with a child and taking indecent liberties with a child.

The arrest warrant indicated the alleged crimes happened between January 2007 and January 2008. Police said he knew the child.

Jones listed NCSU as his employer on arrest documents. University officials confirmed he worked there as a building environmental technician, but they did not say when he was terminated.

Jones was being held at the Wake County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond, according to police.
