Kody Ray Brittingham, a former Marine assigned to Camp Lejeune, was sentenced Monday to 100 months in prison for making threats against President Barack Obama, United States Attorney George E.B. Holding said in a statement released Tuesday.
According to court records, Brittingham, 22, made statements that he planned to shoot Obama just after his election in November 2008. Navy investigators found documents about the presidential inauguration, including maps of the United States Capitol area.
