Durham pastor, teacher faces 14 more sex crime charges

A Durham pastor and teacher is facing more charges for child sex crimes.

David Dixon is now facing 14 additional charges for a total of 19 since news broke of his allegations.

The pastor was previously facing five charges out of Durham. These new charges are out of Wake County.

Raleigh police said at least some of the crimes are believed to have occurred at Dixon's Raleigh apartment.

We also now know the 13-year-old victim was a student at the school where Dixon was working as a teacher.

Dixon, 37, was a substitute fifth grade teacher at the Community School of Digital and Visual Arts, a public charter school in Durham.

A school spokesperson said Dixon worked there from September through November, and that he was terminated when they learned of the allegations. They also say no crimes are believed to have occurred on campus.

"I am speechless," said Jolie Young, a neighbor of Dixon's. "I work with kids because they are just so pure. You have so much influence over them. You really want to change their lives in the best way possible. And to take advantage of someone like that, it is honestly so disgusting."

The crimes occurred in September and October.

Dixon is in jail in Durham under a $1 million bond. He'll face a judge in Wake County for the latest charges.
