First lady Jill Biden is scheduled to visit North Carolina Monday.

Biden is set to travel to Greenville and Greensboro to highlight the importance of efforts to expand career-connected learning in high school and college.

Timeline of Monday's visit

Biden is expected to arrive at Pitt-Greenville Airport in Greenville at noon.

At 12:30 p.m., Biden is scheduled to visit Pitt Community College in Winterville. She is expected to highlight how career-connected learning programs are transforming the high school experience and unlocking new pathways to career opportunities for students.

At 2:30 p.m., Biden is expected to arrive at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro.

At 3:15 p.m., the first lady will visit Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro. She is expected to speak as part of a roundtable discussion with state leaders, local leaders, educators and students to spotlight federal, state, and local efforts to provide career-connected learning in schools.

Previous visits by the Biden administration to North Carolina

Monday's visit will mark the second time in as many months Biden has visited North Carolina. In March, she visited Research Triangle Park to discuss Biden administration's effort to prioritize research and funding for women's health.

Last month, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris visited Raleigh to promote their positions on health care and reproductive rights in a rare joint visit.

North Carolina is expected to again be a key swing state in the 2024 presidential election.

The Biden campaign is expected to focus heavily on North Carolina in the coming months, as is the campaign of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Democrats are also hoping to keep control of the governor's mansion and break the GOP's veto-proof supermajority in the state legislature, while Republicans are hoping to flip important, Democrat-held offices such as governor and attorney general.
