Firefighters respond to apartment complex in North Raleigh

Firefighters responded to a North Raleigh apartment complex early Monday morning.

The fire was reported before 3 a.m. at 523 Bridle Ridge Lane, at the Laurel Springs apartments near Six Forks Road and Spring Forest Road.

Residents said they started smelling smoke and called 911. Two corner units were badly damaged, but no one injured.

Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly and left the scene by 4:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
