Hi,
We live down the street from the house that burned down on Crantock Rd in Smithfield today. We spoke with the renter of the house who barely got out with her two young grandaughters. They are fine.

There were 2 cats and a dog inside the home. The cats didn't make it. The dog hasn't been found. The two dogs outside the home were saved.

We have video of the developing fire.

Fire destroyed a 150-year-old farm house near Smithfield Tuesday afternoon.

WRAL viewer Marianne Rapp lives nearby. She e-mailed that the woman who lived there got out safely with her two granddaughters.
