Fire destroys home in Johnston County; 2 dogs killed

A Johnston County home was destroyed in a fire that also killed two dogs.

Crews were busy Friday morning around 1:30, trying to put out a fire at a home on Wills Run Road near Garner.

Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire for about two hours. As firefighters worked to control the fire, more flames shot up inside the home.

Smoke could be seen from the road.

WRAL News was live at the scene, where the extensive damage could be seen. The siding of the house was damaged by the fire, and a pickup truck was completely charred.

There are no reported injuries, but, unfortunately, two dogs died in the fire.
