Fire breaks out at Garner apartments under construction

A fire broke out Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in Garner that's under construction.

The small fire happened just after 1 a.m. at U.S. Highway 70 and Yeargan Road.

Fire crews were able to put it out quickly and limit the damage. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Investigators are working to determine what and possibly who caused the fire.

Garner police and the fire marshal are investigating the incident.
